Why Choose Blackdog Dog Biscuits?

Blackdog has been making pet treats in Australia for many years, and its biscuits offer something quite different from the single-ingredient dried meat treats that make up much of our range.

These are oven-baked, multi-ingredient dog biscuits, made using ingredients such as wholegrain wheat, tallow, meat meal and the particular ingredients that give each variety its name and flavour.

We particularly like the fact that when Blackdog calls a biscuit Beef, Cheese, Peanut Butter or Liver & Kidney, the corresponding ingredient is actually included in the recipe. These aren’t simply the same plain biscuit with an artificial flavour added.

Of course, these are not single-ingredient treats, and we don’t pretend that they are. If you’re specifically looking for treats made from one type of Australian meat with no other ingredients, our natural meat treats are a better choice. But if your dog enjoys a crunchy baked biscuit, Blackdog offers a wide range of flavours and formats.

Mini Dog Biscuits for Training

Our three Mini Biscuit varieties — Mini Beef, Mini Cheese and Mini Charcoal — are among the most popular biscuits in our range.

Their smaller size makes them particularly useful for training, obedience work and situations where you want to reward your dog frequently without giving a large biscuit every time.

They are also handy for smaller dogs or owners who simply prefer a smaller everyday treat.

Large & Bulk Dog Biscuits

For owners who go through biscuits quickly, several Blackdog varieties are available in 5kg bulk boxes.

Some of these larger biscuits can also be purchased from us in 1kg bags, which we repack from the original 5kg bulk boxes. This gives you the opportunity to buy a useful quantity without committing to the full bulk box.

Our range includes larger biscuits such as Beef Liver & Kidney, Peanut Butter, Chicken, Cheese and Double Cheese & Bacon, as well as the distinctive extra-large Bigga Biscuit.

Functional Dog Biscuits

Not every dog biscuit is simply about flavour.

Our range includes several biscuits with a particular functional purpose or ingredient. Bigga Biscuits contain just 3% fat, making them a particularly interesting option for owners looking for a lower-fat biscuit. Glucosabics contain added glucosamine, while Cannabics contain hemp seed oil and hemp seed protein & fibre.

We also stock Activated Charcoal Biscuits, which contain activated charcoal as a distinctive functional ingredient, and Mint & Parsley Biscuits, which Blackdog markets as a breath-freshening treat.

These products should still be regarded as treats rather than replacements for veterinary diets, medication or professional dental care where those are required.

Dog Biscuit Flavours

We have selected a range of Blackdog biscuits based on what we believe offers useful variety rather than attempting to stock every biscuit Blackdog produces.

Depending on the variety, you’ll find:

  • Beef Liver & Kidney
  • Chicken
  • Cheese
  • Double Cheese & Bacon
  • Peanut Butter
  • Mint & Parsley
  • Beef, Cheese & Charcoal Mini Biscuits
  • Three-flavour Multi Mix

We also stock distinctive functional varieties including Bigga Low Fat, Glucosabics, Cannabics and Activated Charcoal.

Multi Mix – Three Biscuits in One

If your dog enjoys variety, our Blackdog Multi Mix is particularly interesting. It combines three different biscuits — Beef Liver & Kidney, Cheese, and Mint & Parsley — in the one pack.

Rather than buying three different varieties separately, the Multi Mix gives your dog different flavours and colours in the same bag or box.

It is one of the more popular products in our biscuit range and a good option for dogs that get bored with the same treat every day.

Australian-Made Dog Treats Since 2011

Healthy Dog Treats has been helping Australian dog owners choose healthier treats since 2011. While our specialty is natural single-ingredient treats made from real Australian meat and seafood, we also recognise that many dogs simply love a good crunchy biscuit.

That’s why we’ve selected a range of Blackdog biscuits that gives you plenty of choice without trying to stock every variety available.

Whether you’re looking for a small training biscuit, a crunchy everyday reward, a large bulk box, a low-fat option or something a little different such as hemp or glucosamine biscuits, you’ll find a selection here.
