Unlike many treats on the market, Bruce’s healthy dog treats specialises in 100% single ingredient treats, and genuine dog health First.

These also happen to be ANIMAL based treats (meat, offal and bone) because they are the most bio-available and provide an excellent essential amino boost for dogs feed on a commercial diet.

But some people find that buying a whole bag of dog treats, particularly if they are meat and comes in strips are eaten way too fast. We never discourage a dog getting MORE healthy nutrition, but we can understand the point if all you want to do is a functional/ protein boost to your dog, rather than use as a major part of their meal, or a occupier treat.

You want the highest concentration of pure treat, that even puppies and very old dogs with chewing issues can handle. And you don’t want it in some over-priced, over hyped expensive looking canisters.

These TOPPER treats are for every dog out there and a perfect way of keeping a middle-aged dog, big or small healthy too.  So the question might be, how did we chose which treats to turn into toppers –  ie small often grain or powdered versions of the bigger treats.

Well often it comes down to the nutrition value of the treat. If you want a super healthy treat, and don’t want to feed a quarter of a bag at a time, because ideally a daily dose does better.  Then these toppers might just be for you.

Shark cartilage is a world renown joint support product.  Its two main active ingredients are glucosamine and chondroitin.  It’s the second chemical that does the major joint support Dog cartilage maintenance and increasing the viscosity of the fluid between the bones.

And its true that many of our customers buy regular shark cartilage sticks for the fun of chewing for their dog and their great dental stick teeth cleaning action.  But again, its maybe easier to give a regular daily dose by the spoonful than breaking up sticks. And for dogs past chewing the stick down, (ie puppies and older dogs), the shark cartilage powder fine grind OR granular mix are the perfect choice.

Green lipped mussel powder as similar but believed better joint support attributes to shark cartilage, hence we sell the powdered version as well as the dried whole mussels.

Sardine powder toppers are nutrient dense treats high in Omega 3.  If you don’t want to feed them the canned version (that can suffer from over processing) or buy the whole sardine option we sell, then this powdered version, can really spice up a bland dog kibble food.
