Carob Buttons for Dogs
Carob Buttons are one of our most popular flavoured dog treats and have been a favourite with Healthy Dog Treats customers for many years.
Made with carob powder, these small soft buttons have a naturally sweet flavour with similarities to chocolate. They are made specifically for dogs and provide a very different taste experience from conventional meat and fish treats.
Why is carob used in dog treats?
Carob is naturally sweet and has a rich flavour that is often compared with chocolate. Unlike cocoa chocolate, carob does not contain theobromine or caffeine, which are among the reasons ordinary chocolate is unsuitable for dogs.
This makes carob a popular ingredient in specially made dog treats.
Important: Carob dog treats are not chocolate. Ordinary chocolate and cocoa products should never be substituted for dog-specific carob treats.
Soft Carob Buttons
Our Carob Buttons are approximately 15mm in diameter and around 5mm high at the centre. They have a soft texture and can be easily chewed by dogs.
Their small size also makes them convenient for giving a modest reward or breaking into smaller pieces.
They can be used as:
- Occasional treats
- Training rewards
- Positive reinforcement
- Special rewards
- Treats for birthdays and other occasions
As with any treat, Carob Buttons should be fed in moderation as part of a balanced diet.
Australian made carob dog treats
Our Carob Buttons are a Product of Australia and are made in a human-grade food manufacturing facility. They are specifically manufactured as dog treats rather than being ordinary human confectionery.
The recipe includes carob powder, whey powder, vegetable fat, sugar, soy lecithin, salt, vitamins and flavour.
How should Carob Buttons be stored?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. They do not require refrigeration.
During hot weather, the buttons may soften if exposed to high temperatures. Even in winter under cool storage conditions, the buttons tend to get a white haze over their surface – this is perfectly safe ! Keeping them cool will help maintain their normal texture and appearance, if they are stored for a while.
