Healthy Dog Treats is not just a name, its a philosophy that your dog deserves the kind of food that it would get in the wild.

This is why I, Bruce Dwyer created this Healthy Dog Treat Shop. As a dog walker I see many types of dogs, but the one thing in common is their love of exploring and seeking out things to eat.

Dogs are evolved from wolves and if not fed well will relentlessly scavenge to compliment their diet. Whether this means eating excess amounts of grass, poo or food guarding, there are many psychological and behavioural issues that can occur from a poor diet. Dogs are evolved from wolves only 15,000 years ago, and their digestion is essentially the same as a wolves. DOGS NEED MEAT, period.

As meat is often very expensive in supermarkets, people often feed their dogs canned food that is mostly composed of grains and vegetable matter. Dogs don’t have the digestion system to easily extract nutrition from these filler components. Your dog needs the majority of its nutrients from raw meat, bones and offal. It also requires different animal meat, and lots of it.

When I walk dogs and I see huge pale coloured stools, I know that they are getting very little nutrition from their diet, and the least the owners can do is adjust this in the type of treats they provide their loved ones.

This is where my treat shop comes into it.
